Cheryl's Profile
Cheryl Roberts has been Singing for as long as she can remember, training initially with Professionals such as Ivy Wilcox & Robert Latham, former Director of the Bristol Cathedral Girls Choir and Bristol School’s Chamber Choir, & Margaret Thomas , Singing teacher at the Birmingham Conservatoire.
Cheryl went on to win many Eisteddfod’s, and when she was just 16 , she was chosen out of 250 girls across the country to sing in Bristol Cathedral’s first Girls Choir.
In 2000 Cheryl graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she was fortunate enough to receive tuition from the accomplished Soprano Miriam Bowen and the well known established Vocal Coach Jeffrey Howard. During her time at the College she performed the principal role – the Lame Child in the Pied Piper, which was taken on tour.
Cheryl soon became a guest Soprano Soloist performing at many Prestigious venues such as St. Georges, Bristol Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral, St. Mary Redcliffe, Bath Abbey, Victoria Rooms, QEH Theatre , St. Michael on the Mount.
Cheryl went on to perform at numerous Weddings, Corporate events, Charity Fundraisers and important concerts such as the Bristol Festival of the Sea , where she performed for HRH & the Duke of Edinburgh.
Cheryl was the Soprano Soloist for both the Thanksgiving Service for Fire-fighter Fleur Lombard and the First ordination of Women Priests for the Church of Engalnd, and performed as the guest Soprano Soloist for both Bristol Cathedral in the 'Messiah', and the Maesteg 2000 Appeal with the Glyneath Male Voice Choir and Cor Meibion Maesteg A’r Cylch,
In 2001 Cheryl Joined Bristol Operatic Society where she performed the lead roles of Zerlina- Don Giovanni (2002), & Dorabella- Cosi Fan Tutte (2003)
In 2004 Cheryl had an successful audition for the National BBC Chorus Of Wales , where she was chosen to sing Soprano in both the Chorus and Semi – chorus, performing at venues such as St .David’s Hall, Wales Millennium Centre, Brangwyn Hall & The Royal Albert Hall.
In 2009 Cheryl performed both with Serenade under React Europe Ltd , and performed as the Soprano Soloist in God Of War for Video Games Live, performed in Cardiff International Arena.
Cheryl is a Freelance Soprano Soloist performing regularly throughout the U.K for Weddings, Recitals , Corporate & Charity events, and is also a Private Singing Teacher in Caerphilly.
Cheryl is an Artiste working with the Production 78 Management Agency , and the Fraser Lawson Agency.
